With the “Wireless connectivity” option (code ending in “R”, e.g. FC22xVWR) the thermostat gets a radio module. The fan coil and the floor are always controlled by the thermostat on site, by cable – over the radio it only exchanges information. The way it works is chosen with one setting at installation.
Zone of a wireless wiring center
When: rooms with underfloor heating and a fan coil, with no cable to the wiring center.
The thermostat sends the floor and fan coil demands by radio to the FHB5RW-FCU wiring center. The wiring center opens the floor loop of the room, starts the pump and, when the fan coil needs it, the AUX output.
1 zone per room – up to 5 rooms per wiring center.
Temperature from a wireless room module
When: the fan coil is near the ceiling or behind a partition and the thermostat next to it does not sense the room temperature correctly.
Up to 2 battery-powered RFFAN room modules measure the temperature where the people are. The thermostat works with their temperature – or with the average of them and its own sensor. If the modules stop transmitting, the thermostat switches to its own sensor by itself.
The RFFAN module is battery-powered – no cable and no wall box.
Several fan coils in one room
When: a large room with 2 or more fan coils – living room, office, hall.
One thermostat is the main one, the others only “listen”. All fan coils in the room work with the temperature of the same RFFAN module.
All thermostats in the room have the “Wireless connectivity” option (code ending in “R”).
Good to know
- The thermostat works either as a zone of the FHB5RW-FCU wiring center or connects to up to 2 RFFAN modules – not both at the same time.
- During pairing the thermostat pairs successfully with any wireless device, but afterwards it communicates only with the FHB5RW-FCU wiring center or with RFFAN modules.
- If there is another wireless wiring center in the building, the two systems are set to different radio channels at installation.
- Pairing is done from the thermostat service menu.
